Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Product Development Research Officer to support research activities and contribute to the development of new products and technologies. This role is ideal for someone with strong scientific curiosity, hands-on laboratory skills, and the ability to translate research insights into practical product improvements. The position involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing reports, and collaborating with scientists and cross-functional partners throughout the product development cycle.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory research to support new product development, formulation improvements, and technology innovation.
- Prepare and test prototypes, evaluate performance, and document results.
- Assist in designing experimental plans, collecting data, and performing statistical analyses.
- Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records, following internal documentation standards.
- Conduct literature reviews, competitive product assessments, and technology scans.
- Collaborate with scientists and product managers to advance projects and meet development milestones.
- Support scale-up trials, pilot runs, and transfer of research outcomes to manufacturing.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, quality guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in preparing technical reports, presentations, and project summaries.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- At least diploma in molecular biology or related discipline.
- 1–3+ years of experience in laboratory research, product development, or applied R&D (internships and academic research acceptable).
- Strong experimental and analytical skills, particularly in DNA/RNA-based diagnostic assays (Quantitative real-time PCR, multiplex-PCR), NGS and circulating nucleic acid analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with common laboratory equipment and basic data analysis tools.
- Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment with a team of diverse disciplines.
Preferred
- Experience participating in product development cycles.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulatory standards such as ISO13485.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software, formulation tools and analytical instrumentation.
- Experience generating research reports or contributing to technical documentation.
- Prior patent or publication experience.
